Vineyards and their wine growers have been implanted for over two thousand years along the banks of the Rhône river from Vienne to Avignon. The Rhône Valley is a land of vineyards.The Wine growers knew how to exploit this variety of soil and the climate in order to produce a good range of rich wines that now have their place all over the world.. The continuing determination of these men over the centuries to designate their wines with the name of “Côtes du Rhône” has been an important element to their reputation, which culminated in their achieving the AOC Côtes du Rhône quality label in 1937. The Côtes du Rhône is amongst the first of the large AOC winegrowing areas in France in surface and production volume.
